A New Ramp

On Veterans Day weekend, the Southside Corpus Christi Rotary Club’s "RAMP Champs" built a wheelchair ramp at a home on Birch Street in Corpus Christi as part of Southside's ongoing community service Wheelchair Ramp Project.
This project was completed with members of the Southside Corpus Christi Rotary Club, and one member of the Rotary Club of Kingsville.
The recipient of the ramp had tears in her eyes and hugs for her new Rotarian friends who were able to improve her quality of life by providing her with safe access to her home so she will be able to reclaim her independence. The recipient immediately used her wheeled walker to walk down to her driveway and enthusiastically said, “I’m free.”
Our club has been building ramps for over thirteen years and builds about six to eight ramps per year for those in need.
