PDG Don Ratcliff announced that we still need people to help ring bells for the Salvation Army. Thank you to the volunteers who have signed-up in advance! Please remember to cover your shift this Saturday, December 21st at the new Wal-Mart on Saratoga.
Hand to Honduras update: Tom Plumb is currently serving in Honduras and has been there since October 31st. He is currently recruiting volunteers for February 12-21 and February 21-March 1. There is still a need for financial support to finish the San Martin water project serving 6000 people. Three tanks have been completed, and now they are building the control room to house the filter modules. Items that still need to be financially sponsored are sand and gravel for the filter tank, a pump for the well, and the construction of a pump house. Please consider donating to this year's projects! Donations are tax-deductible and can be sent to Hands to Honduras, PO Box 1733, Port Isabel, TX 78578.

Louis Boldt presented Rotarians with more information about Early Act First Knight (EAFK), and Rotary International program for elementary and middle school students. Mr. Boldt shared success stories of the EAFK program in the Victoria schools, which was implemented 3 years ago and is sponsored by Victoria's three Rotary Clubs. The purpose of EAFK is to teach students service about self, educate them about the virtues, and recite the 4-Way Test each day. Schools that spend 10 mintues a day using the EAFK program as part of their character building curriculum have seen a significant drop in disciplinary problems, an increased involvement of students in service projects, and enthusiastic support from family members. For more information about Early Act First Knight, please contact Bridget Markwood, our EAFK Chair, and visit: www.eafk.org.
