This Beautiful logo was drawn for us by Joe McInnis.
Joe was a member of Southside Rotary many years ago.
He was in a wheelchair and had almost no use of his arms or hands.
He drew the boat with his mouth and teeth.

Dear Rotarians and Friends,

Last Wednesday we were dark as our regular meeting was replaced by the All Club Luncheon that was a core part of our District Conference. We had quite a large delegation from our Club at the Conference: Past District Governors Don Ratcliff and Marylin Spencer, District Governor Nominee Betty Frantum, District Governor Nominee in Training Debbie High, Event Chair Ellison Crider, Past President Erasmo Nava, President Nominee Michelle Maresh-Fuehrer, Gerene Becley,  Joe High, Bridget Markwood, and myself. We were all very proud to represent our Club as we were called on numerous times to receive awards that our Club had won this 2013-2014 Rotary year:

Presidential Citation with distinction (for all of our Activities during the year)

Ignite Premier (for active pursuit of membership growth)

Membership Growth (above 3%)

Club Central (for setting strategic goals to Engage Rotary Change Lives, this years and in years to come)

First Class of District 5930 presidents.

None of this would ever have been possible without our incredible team leaders and enthusiastic club members. Thank you!

But the year is not over! We still have work to do to achieve our goals:

Our membership Goal was ambitious, 60 members. We are still far, but... we can do it!

Don't forget this week's Theme: Future Rotarian? Bring a Friend". EVERY CLUB MEMBER IS EXPECTED TO BRING AT LEAST ONE FRIEND to be expossed to what Rotary is about. And will be charged accordingly, even if they come alone. So... Bring a Friend! Give them the gift of Rotary, or at least a good and fun lunch.

Other Highlights from the Conference:

2 of the Breakout sessions were led by one of our members:

Michelle Maresh-Fuehrer (Crisis Management) and Erasmo Nava (Changing Lives while Building Ramps)

Saturday morning, with the help of Gayle Knepper, Representative of Rotary International President Rod Burton, we put the  finishing touches to a ramp started Monday and Friday by our Ramp Champs Rod Vaughn and Dyke Henderson.

Another month, another Ramp, another life we touched!

Looking forward to seeing you all Wednesday,

Yours in service,

Suzanne Guggenheim

President 2013-2014

On Wednesday May 7th we're to have a very special and important Rotary meeting.
All (That is ALL) members are expected to be there and to bring a friend and/or prospective  member to this meeting.  They will learn what Rotary is all about and what our club does to help make Rotary what it is today.
Debbie High has prepared a wonderful  power point presentation, which will also serve as a "Rotary Information" session for individuals already in the pipe line for membership.
If you haven't seen us for a while, this is a great opportunity to rejuvenate yourself!  It will make you proudd to be a Rotarian! -  :-)
