This Beautiful logo was drawn for us by Joe McInnis.
Joe was a member of Southside Rotary many years ago.
He was in a wheelchair and had almost no use of his arms or hands.
He drew the boat with his mouth and teeth.

Dear Rotarians and Friends,

Two "First " at our last meeting:

First time, as far as I know, that we induct both members of a couple the same day: Paul and Linnae Luehrs, sponsored by Debbie High! Welcome to both of you. We look forward to getting to know you better and working with you.

First time that we recognize five of our members with Rotary International new Sponsors pins: a blue one, for the 1st member; a bronze one for 2+. Congratulations to our new recipients (see this week's Riptide)

end at the District assembly. Great Fellowship, and good speakers. 9 of our members were in attendance: Betty Frantum, John Owens, Debbie and Joe High, Don Ratcliff, Marilyn Spencer, Briget Markwood, Lari Young, and myself. We are not coming back empty handed...

Looking forward to seeing you all this Wednesday,

Yours in service,

Suzanne Guggenheim

President 2013-2014

PDG Don Ratcliff and President Suzanne inducted two new members Linnea and Paul Luehrs, sponsored by PDG Debbie High. Paul comes to us via several Clubs in California. Welcome to your new Rotary Family!

Program

Victor Vourcos, Advance Project Development Supervisor at the Texas Department of Transportation came back, two years later ,to give us an update on where the project stands. It is now funded, the Environmental Impact Studies presented, Public hearings held and the Access Roads have been chosen.
And Victor assured us, there would be good lightning and that it would look good. A massive project ahead. And the current bridge will then be destroyed.
