Dear Rotarians and Friends,

Last Wednesday turned out as an exceptional day. Thank you to the memnbership committee for setting up this event. A first in our Club

Thank Claudia Reyes, latest addition to the Committee, for this brilliant idea!

Thank you, Gary "Flash" Blum for the memories;

And Thank you, Debbie, for a wonderful introduction to what is Rotary.

I hope that this kind of event will become annual.

And of course, thank you to all the Rotarians who took up the challenge and brought a friend. What a wonderful way to expose our friends to the Gift of Rotary. Several proposals of new members have been received after the meeting and I hope that we will turn many of them into actual new members!

This week' program will help answer the questions we all have about the Future of The Harbor Bridge. Don't miss That!

And, it's time for the District Convention, in Kingsville.

"Improve your Rotary knowledge and be the best Rotary Club you can be!"

The Keynote Speaker for the District Assembly/luncheon will be Chris McLucas, who brings a diverse background of Rotary experiences to share with us.  He is Past President of Arlington Sunrise Rotary Club and currently serves as Assistant District Governor for District 5790.  He is Chair of Audio-Visual for Rotary Lone Star PETS and Webmaster for rotarypets.com.  He has been a Trainer on audio-visual topics at PETS for 7 years.  He has participated in numerous Polio National Immunization Days in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria, and Rotary Global Grant projects in Honduras, Mexico, Bangladesh, Haiti, India and Turkey.

He is an Arch C Klumph Society Member, a Paul Harris Society Member and a Fourth Level Bequest Society Member.

At the District Assembly he will speak on the topic of "Strengthen your Club's Service Projects and Membership With an Effective Website." He will also conduct a workshop on "Club Websites - Do's and Don'ts."
