The original copy of the Constitution is kept in the National Archives Building in Washington, DC., where several pages are displayed during the day behind a bulletproof case filled with helium and water vapor to preserve it. At night, the pages are stored in a vault with a five-ton door designed to withstand a nuclear explosion.
Maybe this could explain why the government forgets so often what's written there.
