This Beautiful logo was drawn for us by Joe McInnis.
Joe was a member of Southside Rotary many years ago.
He was in a wheelchair and had almost no use of his arms or hands.
He drew the boat with his mouth and teeth.

When Mariana Day moved in 1989 to the small beach town of Chacala, in Nayarit, Mexico, she noticed that the surrounding rural areas struggled to maintain schools. And most children weren’t able to go beyond an eighth-grade education. Day, who is a member of the Rotary Club of Bahía de Jaltemba-La Peñita, in Nayarit, had started a local scholarship program before she joined Rotary. Called Changing Lives, the program provided students with high school tuition, uniforms, school supplies, and transportation. In addition, Rotary clubs from the United States and Mexico have been investing in the...

Here’s how our roles break down. The Strategist: WHO The World Health Organization (WHO) coordinates the management and administration of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative and provides technical and operational support to ministries of health in countries around the world. Meeting Program
Meeting Program:

(Pictured below: Clem Struve)

Introduced by Clem Struve, the week's special
guest was Jim Maloney.

Maloney co-authored the book, Corpus Christi?
A History, which details over 130 years of History
behind the city of Corpus Christi.

On the history of the City, Maloney shared a few highlights with club members.

Maloney informed the group that the City built a new City hall in 1914; after which
they focused on renovating the Bluff Balustrade; the City then went on to build the
Nueces Bay Causeway.  The Nueces Bay Causeway which was built in 1914, was
destroyed by a hurricane in 1990.

Other developments talked about by Maloney, include the Nueces County Courthouse
which was built 1914.  The Beach Hotel, built in 1912 and the Nueces Hotel which was
built in 1912.  All of these buildings were brought down by the 1970 storm.

(Pictured below: Jim Maloney)
For his presentation, Jim Maloney received a Tacks Shelter from club President
